Ticking off the topmost of my 13-year-old self's bucket list

The 13-year-old Danah,
who fangirled over dozens of Korean boys, who bought albums, merchandise, and tickets to concerts, who devoted hours to memorizing kpop songs, only had one ultimate goal in life.
Now I have finally got to tick off the topmost of her bucket list: to visit the country she considers her second home.
South Korea and almost everything associated with this country have been my solace for 8 years. I went from discovering good music and dramas to meeting my best and craziest friends whom I fangirl with. It still feels strange to be living in my high school self's silly dreams: to "breathe the same air" with oppas, wear hanbok, talk to local Koreans, sing and dance Super Junior's Victory Korea and S.E.O.U.L while walking in the streets of Seoul, feast on the tasty Korean street food, adore the famous Han River, ride a local bus, admire Seoul from the top of Namsan Tower, experience noraebang while playing the tambourine, and so much more.
These things might sound crazy, especially to people who have no idea how the Hallyu wave engulfed me, for only those who have known me so well for years do know how utterly obsessed I am with Korean music and culture. It is every fangirl's dream to step into this beautiful country and get a feeling of what is it like to be in the same place with whom you idolize and go crazy over. And for some reason, this experience made me feel like I am the luckiest person for a while.
I can recall considering taking my daily South Korea experience into account, but I thought I was too lazy and I couldn't probably find the right words to fit the overwhelming emotional ride that I had. So for the first time, since I had a handful of video clips, I opted to produce a video travel diary. Check it out below:
To cap this off, I may not be as much as an obsessed k-pop fan that I was years ago, but I found that these dreams I consider silly, undeniably, are still, and forever will be a part of me. To my 13-year-old self, girl, I made it to our own version of paradise! I finally did it! And I'm beyond willing to fulfill more of our silly dreams soon. 잘했어!
